Bee, Wasp, Hornet – Control & Removal

Control of Stinging Insects:

Wasps – Bees – Hornets – Yellow Jackets

All of the above share some common similarities:

  • Most can sting you (at least the females)
  • All must be treated at the site of the nest
  • Eliminating a nest does not mean no more will be seen on bushes, hunting around gutters, flying in your yard and even possibly getting in your house.

We start with an inspection to see if we can determine nesting sites. If we do identify nest sites we can go ahead and treat. Sometimes though, the call to us is prompted by seeing the insects on your bushes or flowers – if we cannot find a nest site on your property we cannot effectively treat.

If we do find nest sites and treat them all sites will have a 90 day warranty (starting after the 2nd day, not all insect will be on the nest at time of treatment and we need time for others to return and contact treated surfaces. Returning insects may be in foul humor and the treated area should be avoided for a few days.

If nest is removable safely (wasps and hornets) we will remove it.

If nest is in the walls (usually Yellowjackets) we will treat as far in as we can and elimination will be delayed for several days.

If its Honey Bees – Best is to call a beekeeper

Ground Bees – We can treat and eliminate them, generally they are inoffensive and will disappear in a few weeks – Ground Bees should not be confused with Yellowjackets that often nest in the ground – Yellowjackets are usually ill-tempered and its best to eliminate them.

Stinging Pest Basics:

Stinging insects we see in our area will be either social or solitary insects, the difference being whether the individual members aid in the building of the nests as a collective group or act solely in the nesting and egg laying.

The social insects will normally cause the most concern as the group will defend its territory as a unit causing repeated stings. Proper identification of the pest will determine the best treatment options.

Call us for extermination of your wasp, bee, or hornet problem today. We can help with the extermination of all these pest from your property with the exception of the honey bee.

The honey bee calls are referred to local bee keeps as these beneficial insects have been in decline in recent years and we do not kill them.
